Sales Manager – The Richmond & Barnes Magazines

Opportunity to join our dynamic team in lifestyle media as Sales Manager of our flagship title, The Richmond & Barnes Magazine. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth on this established local magazine which has been serving businesses and residents of the affluent London borough of Richmond upon Thames for more than 25 years.

You will work closely with our clients to understand their advertising needs and create customized solutions that align with their objectives. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills and a deep understanding of local business within the Richmond borough.

Sheengate Publishing is Surrey and South West London’s largest local lifestyle magazine publisher and a market leader in local advertising, letterbox marketing and door-to-door distribution.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting and generating leads.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their advertising needs and objective.
  4. Create customised advertising solutions that align with client objectives and deliver measurable results.
  5. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
  6. Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and updates to the management team.

Attend local events, shows, and conferences to network and promote the magazine.

Requirements:

  1. Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the media industry
  2. Strong understanding of the lifestyle media, including digital and print platforms
  3. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  4. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  5. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales and business development
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  8. Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  9. Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events within the Borough of Richmond

Salary & Benefits:

  • Excellent commission package (uncapped) First year OTE £30-40,000 and with career progression this rises to £50,000 +
