Editor's Letter

Hello and welcome to my first edition of the Kingston and Elmbridge Lifestyle Magazines as the new editor. I take over from my colleague Richard Nye, who has been involved with the title from the start and edited it beautifully for a number of years.

I will do my best to fill his shoes and keep your magazine where it should be – at the very heart of local issues, events and triumphs.

While Richard is off to focus fully on our sister title, The Richmond Magazine (close enough for me to ask him the odd question!), I’d also like to thank and bid farewell to one of our favourite columnists – Margaret McCloy – who is journeying a little further afield to Swansea.

Margaret has been our resident interiors expert, imparting her wisdom on everything to do with the home, from cushions to Christmas decorations, since the magazine’s inception.

Our cover star this month is raconteur and royal insider Gyles Brandreth who, hot on the heels of that engagement, is set to regale audiences in Surrey with choice anecdotes about the great, the good and the regal (18–19).

I’m also very pleased that we have an interview with Stephen Unwin of the Rose Theatre in Kingston, whose boundless energy and enthusiasm are channelled into making our local theatre one of the best in the country (10–11). Enjoy!
