A wealth of history at East Surrey Museum

East Surrey Museum, in Caterham, opened its doors in 1981, giving visitors the chance to see a wide range of archaelogical and geological artifacts. 

  • The Junior Room has plenty to do and see, including surprise boxes and a World War II exhibition.
  • The John Bushby Room contains sections on geology and fossils, the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages, the Romans in East Surrey, medieval times and modern history, plus an Anglo-Saxon corner.
  • Cricket in East Surrey exhibition has a collection of memorabilia, as well as information about the history of local club teams. 

The museum is open each Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday between 10am and 5pm. Free entry, but donations always gratefully received. To see what’s currently exhibiting click here.
