Olympic Road Cycling route through Surrey and South West London – maps and information
LOCOG has announced details on tickets to optimum viewing spots for the Olympic Road Cycling events, taking place from July 28 to August 1. There are also plenty of places to watch the race for free, see the maps below (credit: LOCOG) to see if the races come near you
On May 29, tickets went on sale for the Road Cycling events, the routes of which travel through many scenic points across Surrey and South West London. Although most of the route will be freely accessible, spectators are being charged to watch the race from the best vantage spots.

Cycling Road Races July 28 (Men’s) and July 29 (Women’s).
There will be two ticketed viewing points at Box Hill – Donkey Green and Dormouse Drive – where cyclists will repeatedly tackle a 15.5km (9.6 miles) circuit. Space has been cleared for up to 15,000 viewers at the Tadworth hill, after it was judged to be best place to view the race.
Spectators on Donkey Green will be able to see the race from three areas – Donkey Green, Straw Belle Slope and the Feed Zone – there will also be a big screen and commentary covering the rest of the action. Full price tickets cost £15 and tickets for seniors/concessions are £5.
On Dormouse Drive there will be access to two viewing areas – Dormouse Drive and Butterfly Bend – also with commentary. Full price tickets cost £10 and tickets for seniors/concessions are £5.

The Cycling Individual Time Trial, August 1 (Men’s and Women’s)
The time trial starts and finishes at Hampton Court Palace and there will be two ticketed viewing point in close proximity to the historic building.
Viewing Area A, at the West Front of Palace, will let you see the the beginning of the time trial and access to a big screen to watch the rest of the action. Full price tickets are £15 and tickets for seniors/concessions are £5.
Viewing area B, on Hampton Court Road, will let you see the finish of the time trial and also includes access to a big screen. Full price tickets are £10 and tickets for seniors/concessions are £5.
